Righteous
Show me a righteous man living in a wooded,
secluded habitat bereft of worldly temptation.
He doesn’t compare to one shackled and locked
down in a grim city of sin, held amongst corruption.
For the righteous one only had the right choice,
the latter was handed a hand mixed by the Devil.
The evils exist, a constant battle within oneself,
can’t front, one keeps one’s own consciousness.
Others lose it to substances, people, the choices
they end up making, ending permanently faded.
Walking through this metropolis of darkness, I
police my whims, seeking the good in humans.
“And I will strike down upon thee
with great vengeance and furious
anger those who would attempt to
poison and destroy my brothers.”
